Roleplay Rules
Learn how open scenes, prompts, character knowledge, presence, and movement work.
EiTM uses open location roleplay. Each location has one shared active scene. A character entering that location joins the scene, and anyone who can realistically reach it may enter. Players cannot reserve a public location or prevent an eligible character from arriving.
Every time a character enters a new scene, they must receive and respond to one opening prompt. Additional prompts are required when beginning a new rolled activity such as hunting, foraging, treatment, combat, or a system-triggered event. Write the required RP response before completing or collecting a prompt reward.
Only use information your character has witnessed or learned. Reading a post as a player does not automatically give that knowledge to every character you own. The site records character authorship, presence, POV, and witness history.
The feed automatically posts arrival, departure, timeout, and return-to-camp notices. These system messages do not earn Starbits or count as roleplay activity. If a player becomes inactive, their character eventually returns to their Clan clearing. Stick to This Area grants one additional full timer period before the normal return.
Sudden events are small mandatory interruptions such as a snake lunging from cover. The player chooses a sensible reaction stat, receives an automatic roll, and writes a response. Events may cause reversible consequences but cannot automatically cause death, permanent damage, or permanent item loss.
